Female Athlete of the Year with Honors
Maggie Robben
Swimming
"Maggie is a four year letter winner and was the Smoky Hill Swimming Most Valuable Swimmer all four years of high school swimming. She is an Academic All-American and First Team Academic All State Swimmer. Maggie was honored as the Hoyt Brawner Award Winner as the Colorado High School Swimmer/Scholar of the Year this past December. This is the highest award given to a athlete in Colorado High School swimming and is presented in recognition for four years of excellence in the pool, classroom and community.
Maggie finished her high school career as the Smoky Hill Team Record Holder in the 100 Breaststroke. She swam in the Colorado High School State Championship finals of the 100 Breaststroke all four seasons of her high school career. Maggie is also an elite freestyle swimmer, qualifying for the state finals in the 200 Freestyle this season.
This past season, Maggie qualified for the 5A State Championship in every single swimming event. She is one of only 7 Smoky Hill swimmers to ever qualify in every event and Maggie has done that the past two seasons. She is one of only 2 swimmers in Smoky Hill history to rank in the Smoky Hill All-Time Top 25 times in every single swimming event.
Maggie was a great teammate, who served as Team Captain her senior season. She set the example everyday in practice of what it takes to be an elite swimmer. Her teammates loved her and she loved her teammates. Maggie's favorite thing about Smoky Hill Swimming is "practicing everyday with my best friends."
Maggie has signed a National Letter of Intent to swim at Division 1, Seattle University, where she will study Finance or Business Analysis with a career goal of being an investment analyst. Maggie is a Smoky Hill Swimming Legend and she will be greatly missed." - Scott Cohen, Head Swimming Coach
