Faculty Scholarship

For over 35 years, the faculty of Smoky Hill High School has recognized outstanding seniors who have shown an interest in joining the ranks of fellow educators. Through the years the faculty scholarship committee has invested over $170,000 into the future of education by helping young people pursue their goal of becoming teachers.  This years’ winner of the Smoky Hill Faculty Scholarship is Laurel Grosz.

Laurel has performed in every main stage production in her 4 years at Smoky Hill. She was also accepted into the All State Choir, which is the highest individual achievement a high school student can attain in choir. Laurel re-arranged her class schedule so she could take a teaching role in the Beginning Women’s Choir. Her high level of performance experience will be an incredible asset to Laurel in her teaching career. She is a rock star. Laurel’s true spirit is in giving and community. She is selfless in her desire to give to others. Laurel will change the world.
